The Journey Begins
Entry One
Hi!
Thanks for coming!
I think it would probably be safe to assume that my first readers are probably people who already know who I am…so a full introduction is probably not necessary at this stage (but you can always check out the ABOUT page if you’re interested).
BUT, on the off chance you’ve stumbled across this post, or someone has shared it with you, or it’s months/years in the future and you’re scrolling through the archives, here’s a quick overview of me!
My name is Paige. I’m a stay-at-home-/homeschool-mom. My husband, James, and I have 3 beautiful little girls, Arayalle, Denae, and Samara. As I’m writing this they are 5, 3.5, and 1 years old…so our life is a bit busy. Although, I’m not sure it really gets less busy as they get older, it just gets different busy. I am Canadian, born and raised in the Niagara Region, until moving to the UK in 2011 for 6 years. That’s where James and I met (he’s a born and raised Brit). We moved back to Canada in 2017. There’s lots more in that story to unpack, but I need to save some material for the future, so let’s just put a pin in that.
I started a blog a few years ago, I thought it would be a great idea. I thought I’d be one of those instant success stories and start bringing in the promised $10,000 a month – heck I’d even settle for $5,000. Obviously, that didn’t happen! It fizzled out within a few months. I enter this season under no such illusion.
I’ve been mulling over the idea of starting a new blog now for probably at least a year, and it’s just been simmering in the back of my mind. Again, there’s a whole lot more to this story…but again…future material! So I started researching “how to start a blog.” And Pinterest is FULL of stories, and how-tos, and “ways to make $500,000 a year just by blogging.” Well, they all start with basically the same advice – Find Your Niche…and then Niche down.
What’s my niche?
I have no idea!
I tried brainstorming to come up with some really cool idea, something super relevant, something that people were bound to flock to. But the best I could come up with, was Me. How much more niche can I get than just writing about me and my life and my journey of faith, and marriage, and motherhood, and homemaking, and everything else. So we’re ignoring the niche advice and going super general – you’re going to get a bit of everything: cooking, cleaning, faith, children, parenting, homeschooling, marriage, bible, and everything else you can think of. But the niche – it’s just me. I don’t come with a bachelor’s degree in, well, anything. I just come humbly as me.
I hope that my stories, and my thoughts, and even my mistakes, encourage you in your own motherhood (or fatherhood?! Any dads out there?) journey. Not a mom? You are more than welcome here! I went 29 years before becoming a mom! I’ve got lots of other stuff to talk about too.
Still here? Thanks for sticking with me! I have big hopes and dreams and vision for what this could be (again…there’s another post in here). I hope you’ll like/subscribe/comment/share – or even just keep turning up for now with me!
I plan on getting a mailing list started at some point so it’s easier to see when a new post drops. But just getting this website created and launched was a feat in and of itself. I won’t wait too long on the mailing list, but for now, you can check back about once a week or so, or follow my Instagram account.
Thanks for joining me!
